Inner Development Goals
The 23 skills needed to achieve the SDGs
In 2015, the UN Sustainable Development Goals provided us with a comprehensive plan for a sustainable world by 2030. However, progress is not happening fast enough. Right now, it doesn’t look like we will reach the goals in time.
As Einstein said, “we are never going to be able to solve our problems with the same order of consciousness that created those problems”.
To push and implement change in our paradigm, we need individuals who have changed paradigm. There is an urgent need to increase our collective abilities to face and work effectively with complex challenges. SDGs will be implemented at the pace and depth needed only when we bring the human factor back into the map and we appreciate, develop and promote individual skills that can bring us the world envisioned by the SDGs.
The Inner Development Goals are a blueprint of the capabilities, qualities and skills that are needed to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, developed gathering data and validating methods with the help of universities worldwide. Their aim is to educate, inspire and empower people to be a positive force leading change in society.

AMSTERDAM, JANUARY 31st, @ EQUALS.AMSTERDAM
Discover the IDGs, the open access toolkit and how you can get started straight away adopting the framework personally or in your organisation, in this vibrant evening organised with Equals.Amsterdam, in their beautiful settings on the Raamgracht.
On December 15th 2022 the Open Source Inner Development Goals Toolkit was launched, to an audience of almost 1000 people gathering from all over the world. Organisations like Google, Ikea, Ericsson, and many more, have already embraced the framework as the greatest possible accelerator to reach the Sustainable Development Goals, towards a socially and ecologically prosperous future for all.
During the event we will explore the IDG framework and toolkit, experience their practical application, and find out how they can be implemented in the work of organisations, as well as in the services we offer to clients.
We will talk about the 5 dimensions, the 23 skills, the open access framework and how changing the way we operate innerly can accelerate impactful change outwardly. We will experience in practice how the IDGs can be integrated in our business workings and how to get started incorporating them in our personal and professional practice.
The Best Journey Ever will host a special guest, Sander Tideman, sustainable leadership educator, entrepreneur and humanitarian, author of Triple Value Leadership. Sander has worked for 20 years with His Holiness the Dalai Lama on one hand and corporates like Unilever on the other, authoring the book Business as Instrument for Societal Change – In Conversation with the Dalai Lama, where the concept of "business for good" was firstly introduced. He has been a frontrunner in the humanistic approach to sustainable development. Sander will share with us the stories of what miracles he saw happening in big corporations and governments when their top tiers started working on inner development as a way to directly address their business models/country economies. He will tell us how this approach actually increased the economic value, rather than impacting it negatively as the markets would have us believe, while caring for the health of people and planet.
